All guests are required to pick up and drop off during the hours specified for each branch.

For all rental hires in Australia and USA, our branches are located close to airports and city centres. You may wish to take a Taxi, Uber or Public Transport.

For all NZ rental bookings excluding Relocations, we offer a free shuttle service between the Apollo branches and the Airport.

To drive one of our vehicles you will need a Driver Licence that is valid for the full length of your hire. The Driver Licence must have been held for a minimum of two years. An International Driver licence or Accredited English Translation is recommended, however if your Driver Licence has the words ‘Driver Licence’ written in English, then an accredited translation will not be required. Original Driver Licence must be shown at the time of pick up, copies will not be accepted.

All drivers are required to show their Driver Licence to the branch in person prior to driving the vehicle. At pick up is preferred, however guests may visit the branch prior to pick up to show their Driver Licence if they are unable to be there on the day.

Drivers must be 21 years of age or over to drive an Apollo, StarRV or Cheapa Campa vehicle and over 18 years of age to drive a Hippie Camper vehicle.

Star RV and Apollo 2WD vehicles are guaranteed automatic.

Apollo 4WD, Cheapa Campa and Hippie Camper vehicles may be Automatic or Manual transmission. We are unable to guarantee the transmission type. Please refer to the vehicle description to check whether your preferred vehicle is Automatic or Manual.

In Australia & New Zealand:

Star RV – vehicle guaranteed to be less than 12 months of age

Apollo – vehicle will be up to 3 years of age

Cheapa Campa – vehicle between 3-5 years

Hippie Camper – vehicle aged over 5 years

In the USA, StarRV are less than 6 months of age and Apollo are up to 18 months old.

We offer Wi-Fi options for hire in USA and NZ, these can be added at the time of pick up and our friendly branch will advise the charges.

Vehicles can be requested by vehicle category, however we cannot guarantee a particular vehicle layout, make or model.

The battery system will provide power for between 12 - 20 hours when fully charged depending on use.

Our vehicles operate on ancillary battery systems which power internal appliances such as the fridge, lights, television and water pump.

The batteries only recharge when connected to mains power or will trickle charge when driving the vehicle. We recommend that the vehicle is plugged into Mains power every 2 nights. Idling the engine won't provide enough power to recharge the house battery.

When you are connected, all equipment automatically runs on mains power rather than the battery. Appliances such as the microwave, rear air-conditioning and power points only run on mains power. Television may run either on 240v (mains power) or 12v (battery power).

For the 12 Volt system to work, the 12 Volt main switch must be in the 'on' position. All vehicles can be connected to 240 Volt mains power via the supplied 15 Amp extension lead with large earth pin. All approved caravan park circuits are rated at 15 amps.

We offer unlimited kilometres with our 2wd Motorhomes and Campervans. 4WD vehicles and Relocations have a daily kilometre allowance - please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information on charges.

You have the option to pay for each mile travelled or to purchase a mile pack at the time of pick up.

All of our vehicles are less than 4.5 tonnes and can be driven by overseas driver licence holders.

We do not have bike racks on our motorhomes. Bikes may be stored inside the Motorhome, however we would appreciate bikes be stored in bike bags to avoid any damage to the interior of the Motorhome.

Yes, we are pet friendly. There is a cleaning fee in addition to the rental fee. Please contact our reservations team to add your fur baby to your booking.

All vehicles are supplied with complimentary living equipment including cooking equipment and eating utensils. Personal Kits include linen, bedding and towels.

USA Hires and Relocation Hires can choose to take Personal Kits at an extra cost.

Personal Kits for 2WDs include sheets, pillows, duvets/comforters and bath towels.

Our 4WD vehicles include sleeping bags, pillows, and bath towels.

For travel in Australia and NZ, Personal Kits are free of charge.

All Relocation bookings, Personal Kits incur a fee.

Yes, all vehicles are supplied with a full gas bottle for heating water and cooking. Payment is required at time of pick up, you may return the gas bottle empty.

If you purchase the Value Pack, the gas bottle is included.

The Value Pack includes VIP Cover if in Australia and New Zealand or Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) if in the USA, as well as extras like camp chairs, camp table, gas bottle, first set of toilet chemicals and child seats. For a list of what is included in the Value Pack for your booking, please refer to the Terms and Conditions for your chosen vehicle.

Liability means the state of being legally responsible for something. With our vehicles, you are liable up to your chosen liability in the event of an incident or accident, regardless of fault and provided you do not breach the Terms and Conditions of hire.

Yes. Should you choose Standard Liability or Liability Reduction Option 1, the Bond will be debited and a Bond Administration fee will apply. The Bond can range from $1,500 to $8,000. Please review our Liability Reduction Options, which can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

If you have chosen Liability Reduction Option 2 (VIP cover), a credit card imprint of $100-$300 will occur at time of pickup. This means that the relevant amount will be “held” from your funds without being debited from your account. You are welcome to call us or provide your phone number on Live Chat and we will be in touch to explain this further.

Yes. Should you choose to leave your booking on the Standard Liability then the Bond will be debited and an administration fee applies. We suggest you review our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) should you choose to reduce your liability, you can find this listed in our Terms and Conditions. If you have chosen CDW then the bond will be held without being charged from your credit card.

We strongly recommend you stay at a campground, holiday park or RV/Caravan Park. RV/Caravan Parks offer excellent recreational opportunities, plus essential shower and toilet facilities. Powered sites enable you to connect your vehicle to electricity.

In Australia and NZ, download the ApolloConnect app from the App Store or Google Play. ApolloConnect allows you to search and book campgrounds/holiday parks while on the road, as well as access great deals on local attractions.

We encourage you to enter all driver details online through our Pre-registration link prior to pick up. You will need your Reservation/Booking Reference and the surname of the booking. You are not required to enter passenger details, only drivers.

Yes. ApolloConnect contains a section on Safe Driving Videos, which you will need to view prior to starting your road trip. You can also watch RV “How To” Videos.

We encourage guests to allow at least 1 hour for vehicle pick up. One of our Guest Service Officers (GSO) will take you through the Rental Agreement (RA) and show you through your vehicle. During peak times your wait time may be longer than expected.

In Australia and New Zealand, “How To” vehicle videos can be viewed via our ApolloConnect app at any time, which is downloadable on the App Store or Google Play.

RV show throughs are available on You Tube for USA rentals.

Our branches accept Credit Card or Debit Card for rental charges paid on vehicle pick up or drop off. Cash payments are not accepted. The Bond on the vehicle is only payable by Credit Card or Debit Credit Card. The Bond cannot be paid with a pre-paid Credit Card.

We permit vehicles to travel one way between cities. This frequently results in vehicles being located in the wrong city for their next rental. To assist in the “relocation” of these vehicles, we offer travellers cheap rates to move vehicles from city “A” to city “B”. For budget conscious renters this provides an ideal opportunity to travel between cities while still fitting in some sightseeing.

When driving a rental vehicle in Australia, you are responsible for paying toll fees, so it is important to be aware of these roads before you travel. Fees and charges to travel via toll roads vary by state. You are likely to pass through toll roads if you are driving your campervan through metropolitan Queensland, New South Wales or Victoria.

We would like to help you avoid toll fines by purchasing a toll package at the time of pick up. Once you travel through the toll road, you will no longer be able to pay directly to the toll company. Apollo Motorhome Holidays will be invoiced and you will need to pay the $75 administration fee as well as the cost of the toll if you have not purchased the toll package or set up your own pass and advised us of this prior to pick up. The Toll Package has a value of $50 but as our guest you pay only $39. We also offer an automatic top up on your credit card for another $39 once you have reached $50.01 worth of toll crossings.

We want you to stay safe on your holiday. All 2WD rental vehicles must stay on sealed roads, the only exception is a well maintained access road less than 12kms in Australia and New Zealand and less than 550 yards in the USA leading to a recognised campgrounds. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information about travel restrictions that apply to your chosen vehicle in your country of travel.

We encourage you to allow extra time to reach your destination. Please take a break from driving every 2 hours.
